CPC Secretary WANG Shuquan and President ZHOU Yu of Harbin Institute of Technology paid an official visit to Vice CPC Secretary of Guangdong Province and CPC Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal City on 10th May. Both sides expressed the will to support the construction of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen). Innovative approaches will be adopted to develop HITSZ into an internationalized first class university deeply rooted in Shenzhen and serving the nation.

MA Xingrui praised highly on the achievements HITSZ has made its great contribution to the innovation and internationalization of Shenzhen. He said that high-tech and innovative education are two engines for the future development of Shenzhen. Shenzhen Municipal Government will fully support the undergraduate program of HITSZ in finance, campus construction and faculty recruitment. He also expressed his hope that HITSZ could develop itself as a national demonstration for higher education reform and a base for high level internationalized talents with innovative spirits.

WANG Shuquan expressed gratitude for the support and concern Shenzhen Municipal Government had been giving to HITSZ. He said that HITSZ would focus on elite cultivation and internationalization during the undergraduate program development to satisfy the regional need for high level talents.

President of HIT ZHOU Yu said that HIT always focused on equipping her students with sound foundation, practical skills, creative spirit and good capacity. The university was also known for its strength in aero and national defense area. HITSZ would inherit the high standard of HIT as well as keep its own advantage and features in industrial collaboration and double-based education etc.

Rector of HITSZ YAO Yingxue reported work plans and current progress of undergraduate programs in HITSZ in the meeting.

Member of the standing committee of CPC Shenzhen & Secretary-general LI Huanan, Deputy Mayor WU Yihuan, Vice President of HIT DING Xuemei, Assistant to President & Executive Vice Rector of HIT Graduate School ZHEN Liang attended the meeting. Heads of relevant units and that of HITSZ also participated in the meeting.
