February 2002, HITSZ was approved by the Ministry of Education of China

August 2003, the first meeting of SZ-HIT Board of Directors

December 2003, the first batch of graduates from HITSZ

September 2005, HITSZ began graduate and PhD programs

July 2006, Commencement Ceremony for the first international student of HITSZ

July 2006, Dean’s Council, Academic Committee, and Faculty Committee of HITSZ were set up

December2009, MoU by HIT and Shenzhen Municipal Government to include undergraduate programs

April 2010, HITSZ started to provide high-level, specialized education for
undergraduate students

March 2011, fifteen Postdoctoral Research Bases were established which provided great intellectual support for the local industries

May 2012, Chang-chun Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and alumnus of HIT, visited HITSZ
