On April 8, a launch ceremony was held for Shenzhen's projects kicked off in the second quarter of 2022. The event had a main venue in Guangming and remote video venues in the city's other districts plus Qianhai. The city's mayor Qin Weizhong attended the event and announced the commencement of 200 projects. One of them was HITSZ's key lab cluster project, which is expected to be finished by the end of 2025 as yet another achievement in the higher-education partnership between the city and HITSZ. It will inject momentum into Shenzhen's efforts to build itself into a national integrated hub of science.
