Two undergraduate teams from the School of Architecture won a gold award and a nomination award respectively in the 2021 WUPENiCITY International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports.

Both teams were made up of cohort-2018 undergraduates from the School of Architecture. It was the first time that undergraduates from the discipline of planning had participated as teams in a competition for university students. The 2021 WUPENiCITY International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports was jointly organized by the World Urban Planning Education Network, the UNESCO-iCity website, and the Guihua Journal, as an effort to promote planning & design education and enhance students’ professional abilities to combine planning & design knowledge with elements of environmental protection and economic growth. In the competition, students were required to look deep into sustainable urban development and identify patterns as well as problems therein.
