[Announced by Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen] (Wu Ruichan Text/Photo) On April 10, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen held the appointment ceremony of Ahmed Elghazouli, Academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Professor at Imperial College of London. Zhen Liang, Assistant to the President of Harbin Institute of Technology and Executive Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, issued a letter of appointment to Professor Ahmed Elghazouli.

Professor Ahmed Elghazouli has long been engaged in structural engineering, earthquake engineering, structural fire protection engineering and structural robustness under extreme loads. He is the head of Structural Engineering Department of Imperial College London, a member of British Standards (Seismic Design) Committee, former Chairman of British Society of Earthquake Engineering and Civil Engineering, and a British Charterd Engineer (CEng). Professor Ahmed Elghazouli has made outstanding achievements in scientific research and teaching, and won the Best Teaching Award and Best Tutor Award from Imperial College of Technology. In 2016, Professor Ahmed Elghazouli was elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), the highest society in the British engineering field.
