The Scientific Research Achievements of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen Were Selected into the Top Ten Progress in Optics of China in 2019

[Announced by Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen] (Liu Yingjie Text/Photo) On March 20th, the "Module Division Multiplexing Photonic Chip Capable of Dense Integration and Arbitrary Routing", which was led by the research group of Xu Ke and Song Qinghai of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, was selected as "Top Ten Progress in Optics of China in 2019" and Top Ten Progress in Applied Research.


This achievement was published in Nature Communications in July, 2019 under the title of "Module Division Multiplexing Photonic Chip Capable of Dense Integration and Arbitrary Routing". By finely adjusting the effective refractive index of waveguide, the miniaturization of key devices of on-chip module division multiplexing was realized, and the on-chip arbitrary transmission and interconnection of 3×112Gbit/s high-speed signals of three-mode multiplexing were completed, which solved the problem of inter-mode crosstalk and loss for the large-scale integration of on-chip multimode optical systems.
